Alice Springs- School of the Air

The world's largest classroom is in Alice Springs- or "Alice". Students who live in the remote areas on cattle stations or other outposts can attend school via the school of the air. Originally students communicated by radio. Today students have computers, satellite dishes, DVDs, and receive packages every two weeks with library books and teaching materials. Students have home tutors (parent or hired tutor) along with three interactive weekly sessions with the teacher. Teachers visit their students at least once each year in person and students and their families come to Alice Springs three times a year for group activities.
