Today we left early in the morning for Christchurch, New Zealand. On the way to our hotel we visited Antarctic Center. Ever since the explorers Scott and Shackleton journeyed from Christchurch to Antarctica nearly a century ago, the city has been a center for exploration and research teams setting off for the Great White South. Scott perished during his exploration and the statue in Christchurch was sculpted by his wife. The Blue Fairy Penquins at the center have injuries that prevent their release in the wild.
